At the Kids Academy at Southern Hills UMC, we believe each child has their own personality, learning style, and pace. That’s why our early childhood education program is designed to encourage the growth of social-emotional, intellectual and physical development of each individual child. The Kids Academy works with you to help your child thrive in a safe, Christian atmosphere and to reach age-appropriate developmental milestones.
Kids Academy Curriculum and Services
Infants and Toddlers
We believe the intentional interactions between children and staff are the central part of development for our infants and toddlers. Kids Academy makes it a point to provide consistent caregivers for our infant-age children and young toddlers, giving them the opportunity to build routines that help them thrive developmentally and emotionally.
Twos – Pre-K
For our two-year-olds through Pre-K learners, Kids Academy provides a child-centered approach to learning rather than a teacher-directed one. Our young learners engage in group activities, as well as individual learning time to become well-rounded in their communication and social skills and decision-making abilities.
The majority of the curriculum for young learners involves “hands-on” learning experiences for the child because learning happens through the exciting process of doing an activity, not just hearing about it! We are constantly exploring letters, numbers, shapes, colors and thematic activities, that are all planned to help your child to individually grow and learn concepts that will prepare them for school.
Before and After School Care
Drop your kids off with confidence for our before and after school program and we’ll provide transportation to and from the following South Oklahoma City and Moore Public Schools:

Summer Care
We know that parents do not always need care throughout the school year, but they do need summer care. Enroll your school-aged child to the Kids Academy at Southern Hills UMC and let us be your trusted partner for childcare when school is out! Summers are full of fun, low-cost activities and experiences.
Music and Specials
Kids Academy is lucky to be partnering with SHOW PLAYHOUSE, SHOW PLAYHOUSE is a new performing art after school program, located in south OKC at Southern Hills United Methodist Church. We offer group classes, private lessons, and camps for every aspiring performer. Singing, Dancing, Acting and Piano classes are available for students entering PreK through 12th grade. With the help of their Master Instructors, we are able to offer Music and Movement Classes each week to all the children in our program at no additional cost.
